Maltese are very intelligent and very easy to train. They are attentive and learn commands easily.

It is important to socialize you dog. A well socialized dog will function in differnt situations well.

Maltese, being a toy breed, usually weigh between 5 to 8 pounds.

They are small dogs and do well in a condo or appartment. Although regular walks are not required they will make for a happier puppy.

The Maltese is non-shedding and considered hypo-allergenic. Everyone is different though, so if you have allergies make sure you are okay before thinking about bringing a puppy in to your home.

They will require regular grooming with a hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks.
