Both the Maltese and the Yorkie are in the Toy Breed group and thus the Morkie is consistent with the Toy Breed.

The Morkie tend to have great personalities and are alert and easy to train. You will find that they will follow your commands very well.

The Morkie is of medium activity level. They can get most of their exercise in the house but would love to go for a walk or play in the yard or at the park.

With early socialization they will get along with cats and other animals.

If their coat is kept long the Morkie will require daily brushing. If kept short in a "puppy cut" their hair is much more manageable.

Their weight can ranges from 4 - 9 lbs as adults depending on how large their parents are.

They are considered non-shedding and are better for those with allergies and asthma sufferers and they are considered overall to be a largely hypoallergenic.

Due to their small size they do well in a condo or apartment and many owners paper-train this breed to avoid going out in various weather extremes.
