Shorkie puppies for sale

The SHORKIE is a hybrid of the Shih Tzu and the Yorkshire.

Given the genetic mix they can take more of the Yorkie tiny side or the stalkier Shih Tzu side.

The Shorkie being a mix of the Shih Tzu and the Yorkie would be considered a toy breed. The Yorkie tends to make them smaller and the Shih Tzu ads sturdiness to the Yorkie frame

Neither, the Yorkie or the Shih Tzu need much exercise as their legs are small and get most of their exercise running around the house and backyard. Exercise is good for all of us. They are considered medium to low on the activity level.

The Shorkie, given early socialization will get along well with other animals as most puppies do. Of course waiting to take your puppy for a walk or around where other dogs have been until after 2^nd puppy vaccination is important to avoid exposure to diseases.

The Shorkie can range between 6 and 12 lbs depending on the genetic makeup they take from each parent.

The Shorkie is a non-shedding mix given that both parents are non-shedding and considered hypo-allergenic. For this reason they are better for people with allergies or asthma that still want a companion dog.

They require a brushing as they do have hair not fur and a periodic hair cut (every 6 – 8 weeks) depending on how manicured you want their hair to be.

The cross between the Shih Tzu and the Yorkie make for a friendly, loving, cuddly lap dog that enjoys fetching toys and entertaining you with their antics. Being quite small they fit in well in a house or a condo.
